The Electric Universe (EU) theory represents one of the most startling paradigm shifts in astrophysics and astronomy to appear in generations.  It is however, still considered fringe by the establishment who cling to the Standard Model based on Newtonian physics coupled with Einsteinian notions of quantum mechanics.

It is an exciting subject, because it appears to have answers for many mysteries that continue to plague the current model.  These mysteries – the big bang, dark matter, and black holes, created entirely as mathematical constructs, are seen in a completely different light in the EU approach.

The dominant relationship in the universe is electrical, recognizing that all planetary bodies are charged with polarities, and that this force is many, many times greater than the force of gravity. In this view, our sun does not exist as a self-regulated, ongoing thermonuclear explosion with a solid core, actively converting hydrogen into helium. If the sun were a controlled nuclear explosion, the heat would not increase, but dissipate as it radiates outwards from the core. This is one example of the many scientific observations of plasma behavior that help prove the validity of the EU theory.  Looking further into the behavior of comets, pulsars, stars, and planetary formation, other insights can be gained that disprove the Standard Model. Comets are no longer seen as cold, ‘dirty snowballs,’ but bodies forged in explosions or intensely heated exchanges, and are electrically charged. Indeed, traditional astrophysics no longer supports the original dirty snowball theory, but hasn’t yet adopted a new understanding.

This is the current situation with many theories – they were formed by a previous generation of scientists, and today are limping along, supported by mathematicians who fabricate new underpinnings for old theories that are needed when new, contradictory information arises.  This is what happened in regards to comets – a NASA space probe brought back evidence that there was no water on comets and that it was composed of highly fused particles, meaning it did not come from deep space as a left over dead rock from an early universe formation.

The EU model is fascinating because it opens a window on a whole new way of looking at the universe.  I have spent a great deal of time researching this subject, because as a layman, it is not that difficult to understand, and the rewards of understanding the implications are great. It may not get you a cup of coffee and a hamburger, but it does satisfy the intellect to look behind the curtain and see what may lie ahead.  It also brings me satisfaction to see one more example of another collapsing paradigm of the old world order.
